April Come She Will/ Winter (Poem) by Traditional arr. Paul Simon/ Poem by David chan
I think this song works well with a poem I wrote about an ex-girlfriend when we split. The lyrics and poem can be found below.

April, come she will
When streams are ripe and swelled with rain
May she will stay
Resting in my arms again

June she’ll change her tune
In restless walks she’ll crown the night
July she will fly
And give no warning to her flight

August, die she must
Though autumn winds blow chilly and cold
September, I remember
A love once new has now, grown old. (trad.)

The winter sun sets golden red spreading the last light among the flying clouds
A cold wind blows through the frosted leaves shaking the flakes onto the bowl of the dark
My heart has set into the deepest winter night leaving nothing but an empty void in my soul
Yearning to be filled by the warmth of Summer

Spring came to Winter to melt the cold hard frost
Bringing in the Summer sun to ease the chills of the night
While Summer stayed, all was warmth and light joyful in the delight of growth
Flowers bloomed and seeds ripen with the promise of tomorrow

Yet not all seeds are fertile and some must lie on the fecund soil aching for the germ of growth
Unfulfilled promises of a tomorrow that might never be
Is there a magic or a song that can burst forth these sterile pips?
Or is that a lie for children told by the old

Alas, poor Winter, weep for the warmth of Spring that she may again stir life into Summer growth
Yet the song has faded and all is left are the leaves of Autumn
Grown golden in the memory of the Summer love.
